Individual Counselling & Trauma Therapy
After experiencing a highly stressful or traumatic event, it can be incredibly beneficial for individuals to have a dedicated space to understand their emotions and begin to make sense of what has happened. With over a decade of experience providing trauma therapy for children, youth and their families, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to meet each individual’s unique needs. I work closely with both parents and young people to build understanding around how trauma affects the nervous system and to develop strategies that support regulation, safety, and a sense of control over one’s physical, emotional, and mental well-being.
Because trauma can show up in many different ways, I tailor my approach to each person. My practice is informed by specialized training in TraumaPlay Therapy, Synergetic Play Therapy, EMDR, and Narrative Therapy.
Play Therapy
Children experience and express their emotions in unique ways. Unlike adults, they often communicate through the natural language of play. I have completed training in both Synergetic Play Therapy and TraumaPlay Therapy approaches, which inform my work with children aged 3 to 12. Play therapy provides a safe, supportive, and engaging space for children to explore their inner world and make sense of their experiences. With the guidance of a trained counsellor, play can become a powerful tool for processing trauma, developing emotional regulation, and rediscovering the joy of simply being a child.
Clinical Supervision- ACS Candidate
I offer clinical supervision grounded in over a decade of experience supporting children, youth, and families impacted by trauma. My approach is informed by neuroscience, attachment theory, and play therapy, allowing me to provide thoughtful, developmentally attuned guidance that honours the complexity of each client’s story. I am committed to fostering reflective, supportive spaces where practitioners can deepen their skills, build confidence, and engage in meaningful, trauma-informed practice.
Parent Support/Coaching
Parenting can be both deeply rewarding and profoundly challenging. When a child or adolescent is experiencing emotional or behavioural difficulties, caregivers may feel uncertain about how to best provide support or restore balance within the family.
I offer therapeutic support, coaching, and psychoeducation for parents and caregivers to enhance understanding of their child’s needs and strengthen the parent–child relationship. This process may involve exploring patterns of communication, attachment dynamics, and family system interactions. Together, we develop individualized strategies that promote emotional regulation, connection, and overall family well-being.
